ONE WISH ENTERTAINMENT

One wish Entertainment  started out as a band in the mid eighties playing popular music in Pretoria the capital city of South Africa. We called ourselves One Wish ,our wish was to be successful one day.The original members of the band were myself George Lusenga lyricist,Mandla Sibiya keyboardist and Peter Molahlehi also on keyboard.
Two years later I moved to Johannesburg to pursue other things, but the passion for music was always there since I was a child before I even started schooling and being able to write my name. From an early age I was informed and always had updated information my ear was always sharp in matters pertaining to music I always had a high work ethic in everything.  I taught my self not to fail.  In life you must have the right people around you.All my previous partners knew that I’m a fighter that is why they put me on the management side of the label/business.While in Johannesburg I did one or two things in the music industry like managing artists, then we came together again this time we decided to change our business model and form a record company. We added Entertainment to One Wish and became OWE. A couple of projects we released from 2002 to 2008  got some significant  airplay e.g. Dj K-za vs. Da Great, Davjee and One Wish House.

The label lost Mandla in early in 2006 due to illness, that was the most difficult time of my life, before that tragedy Mandla introduced me to Floyd Sizani our producer who offered the kind of help I needed resulting in the existence of the Soul Servers, Thuli Sibaya & the Gospel Evolution, Da Great  and many others from other parts of the continent. It has always been my wish to work with people from different parts of the world be it musicians, managers, labels etc, to grow in terms of experience and knowledge to be able to adapt to the ever changing trends and ways of doing this type of business.

I got all the motivation from Motown-Barry Gordy,Colombia Records,Arista and J Records under Clive Davis as well as Philadelphia International Records –Gamble & Huff, what these individuals did in the music business always gives me hope, inspiration and the guts to carry on no matter how difficult some situations may be. This is were the I learned that one must always trusts his instincts, this motivated me in all I have done so far and in future.

I hope that one day the world will have or enjoy something from this part of the continent.
